Anakanako Mohri



Originally from Tokyo, Japan Annakanko began dancing at the age of 19. During her stay in New York City she had the opportunity to study at The Alvin Ailey school certificate Program under the direction of JoAnna Mendle Shaw. While attending school she had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Shaw's dance company "The Equus Project", which dealt with improvising with animals. Having also trained in horton, she is thankful to have trained with Mr. Milton Myers, the horton teacher of the school.While in New York she was introduced to the gaga technique.Venturing to London to divulge herself fully with the mentoring of Chisato Ohno, this technique is now a key element with her choroegraphic ideas, concepts, and movements. After finishing her studies Annakanko was offered a contract by Fleur Darkin, touring with her company around the United Kingdom. With this amazing opportunity she was able to give back to the youth an engage in teaching and choreographing in various schools. Taking a slight departure from dance she reloacted to Paris, France working with the world renowned company HERMES PARIS,
for a commerical "Je Suis  un Cheval". In 2014 she was offered a contract with broadway  musical hit The Lion King, based in Hamburg, Germany where she is currrently dancing. Besides dancing she enjoys photography and film making.
