Musicaldarsteller, Choreograph

 

Randy Diamond wurde in Ohio/USA geboren. Er absolvierte seine Ausbildung zum Tänzer in New York am „Harkness House“ und an der „School of Performing Arts“ sowie in Stuttgart an der „John-Cranko-School“. Privaten Musicalgesangsunterricht erhielt er bei Professor Noel Turner (Folkwang-Hochschule für Musik in Essen).


Bevor Randy Diamond die Gesangslaufbahn einschlug, arbeitete er viele Jahre erfolgreich als erster Solist im Stuttgarter Ballett unter der Leitung von Marcia Haydée. Er war in direkter Zusammenarbeit mit weltweit renommierten Choreographen Hauptdarsteller in Ballettstücken wie „Hamlet“ und „Endstation Sehnsucht“ (John Neumeier), „Bolero“ (Maurice Béjart), „Vergessenes Land“ (Jiri Kylián), „Sacre du Printemps“ (Glen Tetley) sowie „Folia Espagnol“ (William Forsythe). Auch war er der Haupttänzer in Hugo Niebelings Verfilmung der „Johannes Passionen“. Im Schauspiel „Quartett“ verkörperte er unter der Regie Bob Wilsons und des Autors Heiner Müller die tragende Rolle des „jungen Mannes“.

Randy Diamond was born in Ohio, USA. The musical performer and choreographer completed his training as a dancer in New York at Harkness House as well as the School of the Performing Arts and at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. He received private voice lessons from Professor Noel Turner (Folkwang-Hochschule für Musik in Essen) and compleded a camera acting course under the direction of Jerry Coyle (Director of the Weist Barron School for Film & Television New York).

 

Before embarking on a singing career, he performed for many years as a first soloist with the Stuttgart Ballet under the direction of Marcia Haydee. He worked with world renowned choreographers and danced the main roles in pieces such as “The Taming of the Shrew” (John Cranko), “Hamlet and A Streetcar Named Desire” (John Neumeier), “Bolero” (Maurice Béjart), “Forgotten Land” (Jiri Kylián), „Sacre du Printemps“ (Glen Tetley), „Folia Espagnol“ (William Forsythe). Randy Diamond was the lead dancer in Hugo Niebeling´s film “Johannes Passions”. In the drama “Quartet” he played under the direction of Bob Wilson and Heiner Müller the role of the young man.

 

Since many years Randy Diamond is an established artist in the german musical scene.  His repertroire includes the title roles in several productions such as “Jekyll&Hyde”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, Che in “Evita”, the MC in “Cabaret”, Berger in “Hair”, the King of Siam in “The King and I”, Zaza in "La Cage aux Folles" and Frank'n'Furter in the “Rocky Horror Show”.

Randy Diamond performs internationally as a guest singer - including his own piano evening called "Diamond Moments".

 

This coming season Randy Diamond can be seen in the productions of “Jekyll&Hyde” (title role), “Everyman” (title role), "Rocky Horror Show" (Frank'N'Furter), "Oliver!" (Fagin) and “Ragtime” (Tateh).

 

 

Choreographer: His choreographic works include among others the musicals “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, "High Society"and "Aida", the operette "Der Vetter aus Dingsda" and the opera “Hänsel und Gretel”.
